Supreme Award Winner — New Zealand Commercial Project Awards
Remarkables Skifield Base Building, Queenstown
As Project Director for the Remarkables Skifield Base Building, Nick played a key leadership role in delivering one of New Zealand’s most recognised and technically demanding commercial developments.
The three-storey, 6,000m² building was designed to provide a complete on-mountain guest experience — from rentals, ticketing, and retail on the lower levels through to expansive dining spaces, a bar, and a wraparound heated deck with panoramic views across Coronet Peak and the Southern Alps.
Awarded the Supreme Award at the New Zealand Commercial Project Awards, the project was described by judges as a true reflection of total team effort and collaboration. Despite a demanding nine-month programme and extreme alpine conditions — including winds of up to 150km/h and heavy snowfall — the project was delivered one month ahead of schedule.
The project also received the PlaceMakers Tourism & Leisure Category Award, a Gold Award, and the Value Award for projects over $15 million.

Finalist — Reece McDonald Local Legend Award
Southland Business Chamber
Maxis Projects, through the leadership of Nick Hamlin, was honoured as a finalist in the Reece McDonald Local Legend Award — recognising outstanding contribution to the Southland community.
This acknowledgement reflects a long-standing commitment to supporting local initiatives, mentoring the next generation, and showing up where it matters most — from involvement across multiple community boards including YMCA Southland, Inclusive Activity Murihiku (IAM), and Southland Football, to hands-on mentorship of young people entering the construction industry.
This recognition reflects not just business success, but integrity, humility, and a consistent commitment to giving back — values that sit at the heart of Maxis Projects.
