Maxis Projects was founded to bring a more practical, relationship-driven approach to construction consultancy across New Zealand.
With decades of experience across development, construction, and project management, we understand how projects succeed — and where they could go wrong.
Our leadership brings over 30 years of industry experience, with a background spanning carpentry, quantity surveying, and large-scale project delivery.
Having worked both client-side and contractor-side, we offer a well-rounded perspective — balancing commercial outcomes with real-world buildability.

Nick Hamlin
Managing Director / Development Manager
Nick Hamlin brings over 28 years of experience in the construction industry, including more than two decades in senior leadership and director roles. His career has seen him lead and deliver over $500M worth of projects across aged care, education, civic, commercial, and accommodation sectors.
Before establishing Maxis Projects in 2019, Nick held the role of General Manager for Arrow International’s Southern Business Unit, responsible for overseeing large-scale operations, strategic planning, and financial performance. His experience spans the full project lifecycle — from early feasibility and planning through to construction delivery.
Nick is known for his strong commercial acumen, leadership, and ability to bring the right people together to achieve successful outcomes. He has extensive experience working with private clients, local government, and community organisations, with a deep understanding of stakeholder management, governance, and project risk.
Sara Hamlin
Co-Owner / Design & Brand Lead
Sara Hamlin is co-owner of Maxis Projects and brings over 20 years of experience in construction design. With a background as an Architectural Technician and Interior Designer, she began her career with respected local firm Mollison & Associates, where she developed a strong technical foundation and a refined eye for detail.
Sara plays an important role in shaping the quality and presentation of Maxis Projects, supporting the business across branding, marketing, quality assurance, and client experience. Her design-led thinking helps bridge the gap between construction and the end-user experience, with a passion for interiors and the finer details that elevate a space.
